As of the release of The Eternals on Disney Plus. I had the opportunity to watch it. I found it to be an interesting experience, unlike any Marvel movie. Although it was interesting, ultimately it was a disappointing movie, and it was too long. I found the characters themselves confusing, and their motivations were not explored enough for my taste. As a result, it plays out like a poorly scripted episode of a sci-fi show. Ideally, the movie should have been a Tv show, as it would have set the pace and allowed them to present two origin stories the beginning of the eternals and the development of free will into heroes. The only thing that separates this movie from a YouTube video about ancient astronaut theory is the CGI. "The Eternals" other fault was its demonstration of the deviants. Their most interesting member was killed as soon as he became relevant. My favorite part of the movie was Angelina Jolie’s performance as Thena, which showed her as a stoic-but-warm-hearted warrior. Overall, I think The Eternals could have been better as a Tv show so it could have better flesh out every induvial character and establish motivations for both Eternals and Deviants.
